Review: KEBONNIXS 12 Egg Incubator

The KEBBONIXS 12 Egg incubator is a great option for those looking for an easy-to-use incubator for hatching eggs. One of the standout features of this incubator is the great visibility it provides, allowing you to easily monitor the development of your eggs. The temperature and humidity were also accurate out of the box, which is always a plus.

Another great feature is the automatic egg turner, which takes the labor out of manually turning the eggs. We purchased ours for around $80 which makes it one of the more affordable incubators but at the time of writing this, the price has jumped to $125-149. My guidance would be to go with a different incubator if priced over $100. One of the often overlooked features is it only requires a single power outlet. Other units in this same price range require two power outlets — one for the heating element, the other for the egg turner. With its all plastic design, cleaning this unit is a breeze, making it a great option for those who want to hatch eggs without a lot of hassle. The built-in candler isn’t the best but is adequate.

On the downside, the instructions that come with this unit are poorly translated to English, and can be difficult to understand. Also, once the 12 eggs hatch, the incubator can feel cramped, which is similar to other incubators when they are at their maximum capacity. It is noteworthy that my personal experience with the hatch rates using this incubator have been inconsistent, with varying success rates. Despite using the same incubation conditions and eggs from the same batch, I have seen a wide range of outcomes, from less than 50% success rate in one hatch to over 80% in the next. This contrasts with the consistent high success rates of over 80% that I have achieved with other incubators.

Overall, the KEBBONIXS 12 Egg incubator looks and operates similarly to Brinsea and Harris Farms models, and is a great option, when priced right, for those who want an affordable and easy-to-use incubator for hatching eggs.
