Pasture-raised KuneKune Pork Nutritional Benefits

The Empire KuneKune Pig Association (EKPA), an organization committed to the preservation, conservation, and education of the original intent and purpose of the KuneKune breed, recently funded the analysis and testing of the nutritional benefits of pasture-raised KuneKune pork compared to commercial pork. The results were insightful and will help guide our future pork purchasing decisions. My hope is you will also review these results and consider changing your buying habits too.

We have not yet harvested a KuneKune for meat, either for ourselves or for others. I am currently in a mentorship program with the EKPA, so when we are in a position to offer KuneKune meat, we can offer the best product possible for our customers. In the meantime, please consider changing your pork buying habits and make your next purchase from any of the KPPA Certified Farms across the country. You'll be able to take comfort knowing you are purchasing from a trusted farm that raises pigs humanely, sustainably, and to the animal welfare guidelines set by the KuneKune Pork Producers Association, and ultimately, buying a nutritionally superior product to the commercial pork you find in your local grocery store. If you have purchased KuneKune pork before from one of these farms, please leave a comment letting us know your thoughts and experience.
